Shredder Plant Operator

Job Purpose ▪ Responsible for operating shredding plant and taking charge of monitoring and routine maintenance of PLC, motors & pumps control system. Ensuring operating the machine at the highest performance and highquality output. Adherence to all operational procedures and safety standards. Principal Responsibilities & Accountabilities ▪ Efficiently operate scrap shear plant, adjusting settings and monitoring performance to ensure optimal processing. ▪ Monitor output quality, making necessary adjustments to machinery to meet standards. Identify and separate non-conforming materials. ▪ Inspect infeed scrap for prohibited materials such as big objects, wire bird nesting, pressurized containers, batteries, and hazardous waste. ▪ Monitor control panels, PLC/HMI systems, gauges, and alarms during operation. ▪ Perform regular maintenance tasks, including lubrication, cleaning, and minor repairs, to keep machinery in optimal working condition. ▪ Strictly adhering to all safety protocols and operational guidelines. Ensure personal and team compliance with safety gear and practices. ▪ Maintain accurate logs of operational metrics, maintenance activities, and any issues encountered. ▪ Quickly identify and resolve minor operational issues with the machinery. Escalate complex issues to the supervisor. ▪ Work closely with other team members, sharing information about machinery status and participating in larger maintenance tasks. Qualifications ▪ Industrial / Technical Institute (3 years or more Institute study). Experience ▪ Minimum 10 years’ experience in operating shear and shredding machines. Skills ▪ Good knowledge of mechanical principles, theories, and processes ▪ Strong communications skills ▪ Very Good in English . ▪ Extensive local travel may be required
