Work Experience:
1. Experience: Previous experience in a laundry facility or hospitality setting is preferred but not required.
2. Physical Stamina: Ability to lift and carry heavy laundry bags and operate laundry machines for extended periods.
3. Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail when folding, sorting, and inspecting laundry items to ensure high quality.
4. Communication: Good communication skills to work effectively with colleagues and supervisors.
5. Time Management: Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Technical Skills:
1. Laundry Equipment Operation:
o Proficiency in operating industrial washing machines, dryers, and ironing equipment.
o Understanding different types of fabric care and the appropriate settings for machines.
o Ability to operate folding machines or hand-fold laundry when necessary.
2. Fabric and Stain Knowledge:
o Knowledge of fabric types (e.g., cotton, wool, polyester) and their specific care requirements.
o Ability to identify and treat different types of stains using appropriate chemicals or methods.
3. Chemical Handling:
o Understanding of laundry detergents, bleaches, fabric softeners, and other chemicals.
o Safe handling, mixing, and storage of laundry chemicals, following proper safety guidelines.
4. Laundry Sorting:
o Skill in sorting laundry by color, fabric type, and washing instructions to ensure proper treatment.
o Knowledge of special handling for delicate or high-value items (e.g., linens, uniforms, etc.).
5. Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
o Ability to perform basic troubleshooting on laundry equipment (e.g., addressing washing machine or dryer malfunctions).
o Routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning lint filters, checking for machine wear, and reporting issues to supervisors.
6. Quality Control:
o Inspecting laundry items to ensure cleanliness, quality, and adherence to client specifications.
o Identifying any defects or damage during the washing, drying, or folding processes.
7. Time Management:
o Ability to manage time effectively to meet deadlines and handle high volumes of laundry.
o Efficiently organize laundry loads and track progress to ensure timely completion.
8. Laundry Documentation and Record-Keeping:
o Recording and tracking laundry items for clients (e.g., in hospitality or healthcare settings).
o Using barcode scanning or other tracking systems to manage laundry inventory.
9. Safety Protocols:
o Familiarity with health and safety regulations in laundry operations.
o Knowledge of handling hazardous materials, such as cleaning agents, with appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
10. Basic Computer Skills:
o Using basic computer programs or laundry-specific software for scheduling, inventory tracking, and quality checks.
Additional Skills (Nice to Have):
• Knowledge of dry-cleaning techniques and equipment.
• Experience with high-volume laundry operations or industrial laundry settings.
